The role of the Shift Engineer is to carry out all necessary installation, maintenance and operations associated with the entire Electrical and Mechanical infrastructure and associated building services supporting the Data Centre, these are essential in maintaining the integrity of I.T. Services. Additionally, the shift engineer is accountable to the Engineering Shift Manager and is part of a multi skilled electrical and mechanical team. 365 Days covered shifts, 3x 12-Hour Days, 3 x 12-Hour Nights (6 days off) (5x18 days break per year) Your responsibilities will include: Operation and maintenance of complex engineering systems, ensuring that work is completed to the acceptable standards within the agreed timescales and with no disruption to IT Services along with resolving operational issues ensuring the integrity of the infrastructure is maintained in support of IT Services. Implement effective emergency operating procedures to ensure system recovery is achieved with minimum impact to services, escalating and raising awareness as appropriate. Scheduling and managing the planned, preventative, and reactive maintenance of engineering systems and infrastructure, whilst ensuring work is completed within agreed timescales and to expected quality.
