About

Summary: We run a UK-based property website with historically strong rankings. Over recent months we’ve seen signs of negative SEO activity alongside technical instability (crawl/render, CDN/WAF, caching). We need a specialist who can pinpoint the true cause, then deliver a focused recovery plan. Important: If you don’t have proven experience diagnosing and recovering from something like this please don’t apply. We only want applicants who can show real results and past examples of identifying and fixing these issues. About Us: A UK property brand with solid historic performance. We’re seeing reduced visibility on new and existing pages and want an expert to investigate, report, and stabilise the site for the long term. What We Need (not a generic audit) We are not looking for a 10-hour boilerplate audit. We need someone who: - Knows what to check first for negative SEO and technical suppression. - Can identify root cause within hours and articulate it clearly. - Delivers a written action plan with prioritised fixes and a counter-strategy. Core Skills (must-have): - Technical SEO across Cloudflare (Pro), WP Engine, WordPress (including common performance/caching plugins). - Negative SEO / penalty recovery - (bonus). -Confident with Google Search Console diagnostics (crawl/render) and Ahrefs backlink/risk analysis. - Comfortable reviewing headers, cache behaviour, CDN/WAF settings, and identifying render blockers. - Clear communication and evidence-based reporting. Requirements: - Demonstrable track record fixing similar issues (links + render/crawl). - Ability to show real examples (before/after or anonymised). - Strong grasp of toxic backlink analysis and technical SEO fundamentals. - Comfortable collaborating with developers/hosting for implementation. Responsibilities: - Diagnose whether drops are link-driven, technical (crawl/render), or both. - Review GSC, Ahrefs, and high-level server/CDN configurations to isolate root causes. - Produce a concise diagnostic with prioritised actions and risk notes. - Outline a counter-strategy to stabilise rankings and rebuild authority. Deliverables: - Root-cause diagnostic report (clear, non-generic; highest-impact fixes first). - One consultation call to walk through findings and next steps. - Counter-strategy plan with prioritised actions to stabilise rankings and rebuild authority. Nice to Have: - Experience with modern consent/tag setups (and their impact on crawl/render). - Familiarity with Core Web Vitals triage and verification workflows. - Ability to provide light implementation support if agreed. How We’ll Measure Success: - Cleaner GSC render diagnostics (no failed critical resources). - Reduced crawler errors/429s and steadier crawl stats. - Baseline visibility returns for new pages; stabilisation for key URLs. - Clear, defensible link risk posture and anchor mix. To Apply: Please include: - Examples of past recovery projects (before/after or anonymised) that you personally led. - A brief explanation of your typical recovery process (diagnose → fix → verify). - Your estimated timeline and cost for the initial diagnostic and consultation. - Links or evidence of your own WordPress / technical SEO / UX-aware work. Only apply if you can genuinely prove expertise. We’re not looking for general SEOs; this is a focused role for a professional who has handled negative SEO and site recovery end-to-end. Thank you
