About

  • About Auror
  • At Auror, we’re empowering the retail industry to reduce theft and Organised Retail Crime, a $150 billion problem globally. It’s high-volume crime that’s increasingly organised in nature and is putting people, retailers, and communities at risk every day.
  • Founded in New Zealand, we’re working with some of the best and largest retailers in the world across the UK, Australasia & North America.
  • Auror connects people with intelligence to reduce crime. As a company, we’ve built a high-performing, positive culture with a focus on providing an inclusive environment for a diverse team. If you’re excited about reducing crime and building safer communities for everyone, then we want you on our team.
  • We're also embracing the potential of AI to supercharge our impact - whether that's enhancing the way we detect trends, supporting our customers, or improving internal workflows. As a company, we're committed to responsibly incorporating AI into how we work and what we build, and we encourage all Aurors to be curious about how AI can elevate their work, regardless of role or function.
  • About the role
  • We’re looking for a Senior Technical Integration Specialist to join our London team. In this role, you’ll combine technical integration expertise with project leadership to ensure our customers unlock the full value of Auror from day one. You’ll lead technical onboarding and integrations, connecting systems through SSO, MDM, APIs, and third-party solutions, while also supporting the rollout of our cutting-edge Risk Detection technologies, including Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) and Subject Recognition. As a technical expert, you’ll work closely with customers, partners, and internal teams to deliver smooth, timely implementations, troubleshoot and resolve issues, and make complex technology simple and impactful.
  • We’re looking for someone with proven experience delivering end-to-end technology solutions that combine hardware and software, strong knowledge of integrations and APIs, and excellent project management skills. You’ll thrive if you enjoy working hands-on with customers, collaborating across teams, and applying your technical expertise to create real-world impact on safety and crime prevention.
  • Success in this role means developing a deep understanding of Auror’s platform and leveraging that knowledge to help our customers maximise the value of their integrations, ensuring a seamless and impactful experience from day one.
  • Location and hours
  • This is a London-based role. We value co-location and have a hybrid flexible working model; the Auror office is located a short walk from London Bridge Station, where the majority of the team spend 3-4 days in the office and 1-2 days remotely. We’re bringing on customers in the UK, North America, Australia and New Zealand, so this role will involve working flexible hours to accommodate the needs of these global customers. Initially, as we build out our teams, there may be a requirement to adjust work hours to provide support across different time zones. However, as the team expands and regional coverage improves, a more structured work schedule will be established.

This role will involve

  • Partnering with third-party solution providers to onboard them to our OpenAPI and support their development and testing.
  • Support in the implementation of integrations for retail and law enforcement partners, ensuring seamless connectivity with Auror systems.
  • Set up and maintain SSO solutions to streamline user authentication and authorisation processes.
  • Utilising telemetry and tooling to troubleshoot, identify and resolve issues related to Auror’s technical integrations.
  • Collaborating with customer stakeholders, solution providers, IT teams and internal teams to communicate both technical and non-technical concepts.
  • Creating comprehensive documentation to facilitate integration processes with third-party providers and customers.
  • Partnering with relevant stakeholders to support the delivery of ANPR and SR (Subject Recognition) pilots and rollouts, both for customers with a handful of sites as well as those with thousands of sites.
  • This role reports to Alicia Liebenberg, Director of Engineering
  • Alicia joined Auror in September 2024 from Pushpay and is based in Auckland, NZ. A quick shoutout to the broader team, as you will be joining our epic Product team, where you’ll work with a collaborative, fun and diverse bunch of people. About you

  • Experienced in rolling out and leading complex technical programmes of work that involve collaborating and liaising with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • You’ve worked in a Product organisation and have recent experience in a growth business.
  • Possess a strong understanding of authentication principles and protocols, such as OAuth, SAML, and OIDC and understand how they work in web-based environments.
  • Experience working with HTTP APIs, having a solid technical understanding of how HTTP APIs work from both a consumer and publisher perspective.
  • Successfully project-managed complex technical projects with customers, maintaining momentum towards project goals, ensuring all stakeholders are informed of progress, and proactively identifying and raising issues.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud, and experience working within one or more of these providers.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with confidence in leading customer project calls.
  • Proven ability to effectively self-manage and prioritise individual workload while also seamlessly integrating and collaborating within a team environment to achieve shared objectives.
  • Experienced in picking up new technologies and concepts quickly, as we build new integrations and develop further partnerships, you’ll upskill on the go to become an expert in these areas as well.
  • You’re curious and excited about how AI tools can enhance technical workflows, improve efficiency, or scale support — and may have already experimented with AI tools for documentation, monitoring, or knowledge management.
  • As this role requires an in-depth understanding of both hardware and software technology, a background in Engineering will be an advantage.
  • We are looking for people who demonstrate a strong alignment with our Guiding Principles (you can find these on our Careers page).
  • With diversity and inclusion at the forefront of Auror’s Guiding Principles, we promote a culture that celebrates diversity and inclusiveness, regardless of, but not limited to, race, gender, sexual orientation, family status, religion, ethnicity, national origin, physical disability, veteran status, or age.
  • In your first 6 months at Auror
  • To begin, you will focus on learning everything about our product and the way it integrates into our customers’ managed software and hardware platforms. As the first Technical Integrations Specialist in the UK, success in this role will mean being comfortable taking ownership from start to finish. You’ll be responsible for ensuring the successful implementation of customer integrations, coordinating across internal teams, working hands-on with customers’ IT teams, and proactively solving challenges to deliver a seamless integration experience. You will develop an understanding of our existing third-party integrations, including how we connect to our customers' identity management systems to provide single sign-on (SSO) for our users, as well as the numerous other touchpoints that our platform has with customer systems. You will also partner with our customer success team to gain an understanding of who our customers are, what integrations each has and how we can best support them.
  • Within your first three months, you will begin working with our customers’ IT teams and technical integrators to roll out and support various integrations.
  • By six months, you will be creating process guides for internal and external use, serving as the point of contact for new customer integration implementations, and troubleshooting issues related to our integrations. With direction from our Technical Project Lead, you will also be supporting the UK rollout of our cutting-edge Risk Detection technologies, including Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) and Subject Recognition.
