- In this role, you will work on a high-impact, hybrid backend system that combines traditional web infrastructure with blockchain integrations. You will design, implement, and maintain features that engage millions of users in the gaming and esports ecosystem, bridging Web2 and Web3 technologies. The position offers the opportunity to solve unique technical challenges, optimize performance, and work closely with product teams to ship features quickly. You will manage end-to-end ownership of backend systems, including API design, database performance, and integration with smart contracts when necessary. - Accountabilities
- Build, deploy, and maintain backend features using Nest.js, PostgreSQL, AWS, Docker, and TypeScript.
- Implement integrations between traditional backend systems and blockchain technologies, including smart contracts, wallets, and on-chain/off-chain data synchronization.
- Optimize existing systems for performance, scalability, and reliability, monitoring API responses, database queries, and production workloads.
- Own features end-to-end from implementation to production monitoring, debugging, and deployment.
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams to deliver new game mechanics, AI integrations, and other fan engagement features.
- Design and maintain APIs for internal and external consumption, ensuring smooth integration with third-party services.
- Strong expertise in Nest.js, PostgreSQL, AWS, Docker, and TypeScript.
- Proven track record of shipping backend features to production in fast-paced environments.
- Experience with API design, third-party integrations, and performance optimization.
- Familiarity with blockchain technologies, smart contract interactions, wallet integrations, or on-chain data indexing.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to navigate complex hybrid systems.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Preferred
- Previous experience working at a Web3 company or building decentralized applications (dApps).
- Knowledge of optimizing backend systems under high load conditions.
- Interest in gaming/esports and understanding of gamification principles.
