  • We are recruiting for a Senior Sales Manager to join and lead our field sales team at Marshalls Aggregates & Block Stone. The position is field based, working from your home office with regular travel across the patch. The postcodes you’ll cover are DE, DN, HD, LN, NG, S, WF.
  • So What's the mission?
  • This is a boots on the ground sales role with Manager responsibility of a small sales team of two. Whilst your responsibility will certainly include developing and executing a winning sales strategy to exceed targets and build lasting customer relationships, you will absolutely be personally getting out in to the field and driving sales and market expansion across the Yorkshire and Lancashire regions.
  • As Senior Sales Manager you are responsible for the financial performance of your Region against agreed targets, developing long-term, mutually beneficial trading relationships with key customers to drive profitable sales and growth for the long term.
  • You will pro-actively identify and manage opportunities, secure specifications and sales for Aggregate products from our Stainton/ Maltby Quarry site through customer contact both in person and virtually, promote Marshalls’ product & services to support the delivery of the national sales targets in line with the business plan.
  • You will engage and establish regular business reviews with identified, strategically significant customers (outlined in your business plan) within each assigned region to ensure excellent levels of customer service and ongoing sales.
  • We're looking for a results-oriented individual with a proven track record in sales. You'll possess proven and effective leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate yourself.
  • A deep understanding of the construction industry and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service are essential. Your working week will be split between working from our Stainton/ Maltby Quarry site, in the field seeing customers & working from home as well as our Head office in Elland as and when required.
  • What are the mission-critical skills?
  • Aggregate Sales experience would be highly preferred
  • Strong sales experience in an external/field sales environment within the construction will be considered
  • Previous experience managing and developing a small sales team
  • Passionate about providing excellent customer service
  • A good understanding of the construction industry
  • Self-motivated and performance-oriented
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build long-term relationships
  • Experience using Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, to develop value-added presentations
  • This is a field-based role; you will need to have a UK driving licence and live on-patch (DE, DN, HD, LN, NG, S, WF)
