About
Are you a portfolio-driven project leader who thrives in complexity and wants to shape how enterprise work gets delivered? The Senior Project Manager, Membership Initiatives is the central owner of project and portfolio delivery for CFA Institute’s global Membership organization. This role ensures that high-priority membership initiatives—including new membership classes, benefits, services, and operational improvements—are well-governed, strategically prioritized, appropriately resourced, and delivered with measurable impact. You will partner closely with senior leaders and cross-functional teams to improve delivery speed, predictability, financial outcomes, and decision-making quality across a complex, global portfolio. What You’ll Do Own the health, outcomes, and financial impact of the global Membership project portfolio, ensuring alignment with enterprise priorities. Lead high-profile projects and strategic initiatives, modeling excellence in project and program delivery. Design, implement, and continuously improve project intake, prioritization, governance, and business value assessment processes. Develop and deliver portfolio-level tracking, reporting, and insights for senior leadership to enable data-driven decision-making. Establish and mature project management standards, tools, templates, and best practices across the Membership organization. Coach, mentor, and oversee internal and external project managers supporting the Membership portfolio. Partner with senior stakeholders across Education, Research, Events, Product, Marketing, and local CFA societies to manage dependencies and deliver value to members. Proactively identify and manage risks, issues, interdependencies, and resource constraints across concurrent initiatives. Influence without authority in a matrixed, global environment while maintaining accountability for scope, schedule, budget, and quality. What You’ll Bring Minimum Qualifications 7+ years of experience leading complex, cross-functional projects, programs, and portfolios. Demonstrated success building or maturing project and portfolio management frameworks—not just executing individual projects. Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent, high-stakes initiatives with financial and delivery accountability. Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferred Qualifications PMP, PMI-ACP, PRINCE2, or similar project management certification. Experience in professional, membership-based, education, credentialing, or regulated organizations. Prior people leadership, mentoring, or PMO leadership experience. Familiarity with portfolio management tools, reporting automation, and continuous improvement practices. Why Join Us?
