What you’ll be doing

  • Project manage the engineering tasks of the Research & Technology team, signing off on the delivery of engineering decisions.
  • Lead the integration of engineering across all aspects of the Research & Development products, covering all stages in the engineering lifecycle.
  • Leading a multi-disciplined engineering team in a regulated environment, working on key platforms / projects, both new concept and ongoing support to in service products and services.
  • Propose and develop engineering and business solutions to problems throughout our product development cycle, liaising with the Engineering Authority to ensure that Design and Safety governance is maintained.
  • Manage key stakeholder interfaces with Customer, Suppliers and Partners and liaise with the Engineering Authority to ensure that design and safety governance is maintained.
  • Line management responsibilities and support development of staff through Personal Development Reviews and mentoring.

Your skills and experiences

Essential

  • · Experience managing teams and teams of teams to deliver complex engineering solutions.
  • · Experience in Systems Engineering activities involved in the development of complex systems across engineering lifecycles.
  • · Demonstrated ability to report against the team’s work programmes, including analysis of Risk & Opportunities
  • · Experience in leading design reviews with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • · Working knowledge of Business and Engineering Lifecycle Management (LCM) procedures

Desirable

  • Understanding of the legal and regulatory environment into which engineering capability and disciplines operate and function.
  • · Demonstrated commercial awareness.
