Job Title: Senior Program Manager Location: Cambridge (Science Park), UK Employment Type: Full Time The Job This role is responsible for supporting the planning, coordination, and delivery of complex, cross‑functional programs across the business. You will work closely with teams, stakeholders, and leaders to drive program execution, ensuring alignment, effective governance, and strong risk and issue management. The role requires a proactive mindset that anticipates challenges, drives clarity, and ensures program activities remain on track and on budget. You will play a key part in embedding program management discipline, facilitating decision‑making, and maintaining transparency through robust reporting and communication practices. Collaboration, stakeholder engagement, and the ability to navigate ambiguity are essential to ensuring successful delivery of outcomes and business benefits. Key Responsibilities Program Planning & Delivery Support the development, maintenance, and tracking of the overall program plan, scope, and cost. Drive delivery of program milestones to ensure on‑time, on‑budget, and quality outcomes. Align with other programs to manage dependencies, avoid conflicts, and synchronize delivery activities. Contribute to shaping program strategy, supporting teams to define direction, objectives, and targets. Governance, Methodology & Reporting Embed effective governance practices, including change control, risk management, escalation, and structured program meetings. Produce consistent and timely reporting for stakeholders, SteerCos, and Program Boards. Maintain decision logs, track outcomes, and establish feedback loops for adaptive governance. Ensure program tools, documentation, and methodologies are maintained, understood, and adopted. Risk, Issue & Change Management Identify, track, and proactively manage risks, issues, and impacts to delivery. Apply organizational change management principles to support business readiness and adoption. Drive benefit realization tracking and ensure business value is delivered as planned. Escalate strategic, scope, and performance concerns to sponsors and steering committees where required. Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration Build strong cross‑functional relationships, ensuring alignment and effective communication across teams and time zones. Facilitate workshops, meetings, and discussions to capture input, build consensus, and maintain momentum. Support internal teams with guidance, clarity, and collaboration to strengthen overall program performance. Serve as a bridge between stakeholders to ensure timely decision‑making and alignment. Skills and Qualifications Essential 10+ years’ experience in software, cloud, or management consulting environments, ideally within PMO/TMO functions. Proven track record delivering multiple complex programs in dynamic, large‑scale businesses. Strong organizational change management experience. Deep understanding of program delivery tools, governance frameworks, and methodologies. Strong analytical, financial, and commercial assessment skills. Excellent stakeholder management, negotiation, and communication skills. Demonstrated capability in risk assessment, problem‑solving, and decision‑making. Strong team leadership and people‑management understanding. Outcome‑driven mindset with the ability to manage multiple complex initiatives. Desirable PMI or equivalent program/project management qualifications. Awareness of software/cloud technologies, IP considerations, and IT ecosystems. Familiarity with methodologies such as Prosci ADKAR, Lean/Six Sigma, DMAIC, etc. Experience influencing and communicating at executive and program leadership levels.
