About the Role The main purpose of this role will be to work with the Welsh Government and key stakeholders across both Health and Social care across Wales, to help drive the implementation of the Code of Practice for Autism that sits beneath the Social Services and Well Being Wales Act and the NHS Act. Hosted by the Welsh Local Government Association in conjunction with Public Health Wales, this post will be part of a unique integrated support and development team. The role will work with the Regional Partnership Boards and key stakeholders in the development of infrastructure to deliver their local autism delivery plans. The post holder will be a key point of contact for a wide range of stakeholders at a national level and will coordinate information between the regions and the National Autism Team and will drive the implementation of the Code of Practice and the National ND agenda and provide information, advice, and guidance on the statutory requirements of the Code on Practice. This includes workforce development, and they will be expected to work closely with workforce leads and teams both in the Local Authority and Health boards across Wales. This post will support and inform the Welsh Government with any evaluation or updates to the Code of Practice. The post holder will also promote and share ND Wales resources across Wales and engage with and support local Autism/ND leads and local stakeholder groups. The post holder will have a key role in ensuring that the voice of neurodivergent people is embedded within this work.
