Situated at the intersection of Computer Science and Mathematics, this role offers a distinct opportunity to drive innovation in one of the most dynamic fields of modern technology. You will play a key role in delivering engaging, industry-relevant education in artificial intelligence, machine learning, and data science that inspires the next generation of AI specialists. Beyond the classroom, you will lead impactful research that advances our understanding and application of intelligent systems. The position also offers unique opportunities to build relationships with external stakeholders across industry, government, and research organisations to promote Flinders’ national and international reputation in this field. About You: You are an experienced academic with a strong foundation in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Data Science. Beyond your technical expertise, you bring a collaborative, collegial approach and the ability to work effectively across international and interdisciplinary teams, fostering an inclusive and innovative learning environment. To be successful in this role, you will also demonstrate: Qualifications: Completion of a PhD (or equivalent qualification) in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Science, or a closely related field. Teaching Excellence: Proven experience in teaching at the tertiary level, including topic or course coordination, curriculum design, and application of contemporary teaching technologies. Research Impact: A strong research track record with sustained, high-quality publications and success in attracting external competitive research funding. Mentorship: Experience supervising honours, postgraduate, or higher degree research students to successful completion.
