Full time Continuing position New and exciting Industry Engagement team in the Faculty of Engineering Base Salary Level HEO9 $146,197 - $154,260 + 17% superannuation About the opportunity The Senior Lead, Industry Engagement and Research Collaboration plays a pivotal role in advancing the Faculty of Engineering’s strategy for industry engagement and research partnerships. The primary objective of the role is to initiate, cultivate, and manage strategic collaborations that drive high-impact research, attract significant external funding, and foster innovative educational opportunities. Operating within an Industry Engagement team led by the Manager, Innovation and Industry Engagement, the Senior Lead works closely with academic staff, faculty leadership, and external stakeholders to co-develop initiatives that strengthen research performance, accelerate research translation and commercialisation, and create meaningful pathways for student engagement and workforce readiness. The position is instrumental in supporting major funding applications for research hubs and training centres—critical mechanisms for securing large-scale grants. A key focus is expanding and deepening industry partnerships, and working in collaboration with researchers and partners on the development of compelling, competitive proposals As a Senior Lead, Industry Engagement and Research Collaboration your key responsibilities will be to: develop and manage high-value, long-term industry partnerships that generate collaborative research, secure external funding and achieve real-world impact contribute to business development strategies, ensuring alignment with the faculty's and university’s strategic objectives serve as the primary relationship manager for a portfolio of industry and government stakeholders, supporting their engagement with academic and research teams support translation and commercialisation of research outputs, identifying and capitalising on emerging market opportunities identify and develop industry partnerships that enhance teaching and learning innovation and generate opportunities for student professional experience, including placements, projects, internships, and mentoring initiatives in collaboration with industry track and report on partner engagement, funding outcomes, and other key performance indicators manage and allocate resources, setting short-term goals to ensure the work area's services are delivered efficiently and effectively.
