  • AECOM is actively seeking an experienced and licensed Senior Landscape Architect to join our growing US West Region Urbanism + Planning (U+P) team in a fully remote position as a Part Time Variable employee.
  • The US West Region U+P practice is an integral component of the overall Buildings + Places practice and is focused on leading or supporting a diverse mix of public and private projects including federal, state, municipal, institutional, and transportation/transit related infrastructure.

  • AECOM’s Buildings + Places (B+P) practice includes architecture, interiors, building and system engineering, urbanism and planning (inclusive of landscape architecture), strategy +, economics, technology solutions, asset advisory, and cost and program management. This diverse team assists our clients from the initial strategy through project realization, creating positive outcomes for those who occupy and use the buildings and environments we help to create. Our Rocky Mountain Region B+P practice focuses on the Commercial/Corporate, Science and Technology, Higher Education, and Federal Government market sectors.   • The successful candidate will have a strong background in technical documentation, quality control, project delivery, and possess the ability to convey innovative design thinking and solutions.
  • This is a fully remote, Part-Time Variable (PTV) role supporting the US West Region and reporting to the Denver, CO office. See additional information regarding Part-Time Variable (PTV) employees below.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to

  • Support regional practice leadership and project managers in implementing work through exceptional design, planning, project documentation, mentoring, technical quality reviews and/or quality control on an as-needed basis.
  • Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • BA/BS in Landscape Architecture from an accredited program plus 12 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
  • Licensed Landscaped Architect (in Colorado and other western states is preferred)
  • U.S. Driver’s License and as a condition of employment, must be able to pass AECOM’s Motor Vehicle Records review
  • Due to the nature of the work, U.S. Citizenship is required

Preferred Qualifications

  • A minimum of 15 years of experience as a landscape architect in a technical lead role on complex multi-disciplinary projects.
  • Prior experience practicing landscape architecture and urban design in Colorado and for federal, state or municipal clients, as well as institutional, higher ed and transportation entities.
  • Advanced knowledge of code requirements and the planning and design process, from conceptual thinking through detailed design, technical documentation, and construction phase services.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD/Civil3D, Bluebeam, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office is required, as is the demonstrated ability to mentor staff in technical documentation.
  • Experience producing technical specifications.
  • Ability to think critically, analyze design problems, and communicate effectively.
  • Well-organized with attention to scheduling requirements, as well as an ability to plan and organize multiple projects and work with other multi-discipline team members; effective time management is an inherent trait expected of all candidates.

  • Part-Time Variable (PTV) employees work on a variable or on-call, as-needed basis of less than 1,000 hours per year.
