Job Title: Senior IT Project Manager (Software focused) Location: Cambridge / London Employment Type: Full Time The job The Senior IT Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the planning, implementation, and tracking of complex IT projects within AVEVA. He/She is responsible for ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with project requirements. The Senior IT Project Manager should have experience managing large and complex software development projects, strong technical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to oversee project teams. Key responsibilities Lead and manage multiple software development projects concurrently, from initiation through deployment. Collaborate with senior management and stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables aligned with business goals. Analyse project proposals to determine timelines, budget constraints, and optimal execution strategies. Develop comprehensive project plans detailing schedules, resource allocation, and budget management. Identify and schedule key deliverables, milestones, and tasks across project phases. Apply Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) to guide project execution and support iterative development cycles. Provide leadership, guidance, and motivation to project teams throughout the project lifecycle. Establish work plans and staffing strategies, including recruitment or assignment of project personnel. Implement and maintain effective project communication plans to ensure transparency and alignment. Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies to proactively address potential issues. Monitor project activities to ensure accuracy, consistency, and quality of information across all deliverables. Ensure project outcomes are achieved on time, within budget, and in alignment with strategic business objectives. Assign roles, responsibilities, and authority levels to project team members. Direct and coordinate team efforts to maintain project momentum and meet deadlines. Review and analyse status reports from project personnel, adjusting plans and schedules as needed. Define and enforce standards and procedures for project documentation and reporting. Continuously evaluate and improve project management practices to enhance capability maturity and performance. Build and maintain strong working relationships with external service providers and vendors. Essential requirements Bachelor’s or master’s degree or equivalent IT related experience desirable. Experience of Real Estate Infrastructure / Office relocations / openings Several years of IT experience, with sensitivity and commitment to business problem solving Experience of execution of multiple IT projects or a large IT project. Demonstrated experience in managing a project team Demonstrated experience and ability in successfully using people skills. Ability to supervise and motivate others; demonstrating empathy and knowledge of personality types Familiar with project management methodologies (for example, PMI, Prince II and Agile) Demonstrated sensitivity to working in a political environment and to interacting with senior stakeholders.
