Ready to take your estimating expertise to the next level? We're looking for a skilled Senior Estimator to join our Capital Programme directorate, working at the heart of the EPN Major Connections portfolio. If you're commercially sharp, technically confident, and motivated by shaping major infrastructure projects, this is your next big opportunity.

What You'll Be Doing

In this influential role, you will lead the estimating process for all EPN Major Connections projects, including:

  • Owning the production of Appendix B Target Cost in collaboration with Alliance Delivery Members and Framework Providers
  • Preparing sensitivity reviews and contributions for Gate B papers
  • Identifying scope gaps and ensuring all updates are captured and documented
  • Providing expert advice on techniques, durations, and estimating strategies
  • Supporting project teams with cost‑benefit analysis, risk assessment, and programme reviews
  • Ensuring compliance with industry standards, CDM regulations, and internal procedures
  • Mentoring team members and contributing to a best‑in‑class estimating function
  • Helping shape a new estimating database and modernising internal processes

This is a visible role where you'll work closely with project managers, risk managers, technical SMEs, and senior stakeholders-contributing to an annual £50m portfolio.

What You'll Bring

We're looking for someone who has:

Skills & Knowledge

  • Strong numerical and analytical skills
  • Solid commercial awareness
  • Understanding of Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project
  • Ability to interpret construction drawings and technical specifications
  • Knowledge of construction methods, sequencing, and procurement
  • A collaborative, customer‑focused mindset

Qualifications

  • HND or Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or a related field
  • Willingness to attend safety courses and obtain certifications

Experience

  • Estimating multi‑discipline Civil, Mechanical, Structural and HV/LV electrical projects
  • Working with complex work packages
  • Understanding CDM regulations
  • Experience in electrical power installations (advantageous)
