A leading Investment Manager based in London is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join their Investment Data team on an initial 6-month contract. This role will play a key part in the onboarding of a next-generation data platform while continuing to support and enhance existing data systems used across the investment function. This role offers a mix of migration work, new platform development, and hands-on problem-solving within a modern data environment. Location: London (Hybrid – 2–3 days onsite) Contract: 6 months initial Responsibilities Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and integrations using Python and SQL (with some C# exposure where required).Contribute to the design and implementation of a Snowflake-based data platform , helping shape future architecture and technology choices.Support and enhance existing data systems as part of a long-term migration strategy.Migrate and refactor legacy data solutions into the new platform. Experience: Experience in Data Engineering or Software Engineering roles.Strong skills in Python and SQL , including query optimisation and performance tuning.Experience with data modelling, ETL pipelines, and data integration.Experience building or migrating to Snowflake or other cloud-based data platforms. Desirable: Familiarity with orchestration tools such as Airflow, Dagster , or similar.Experience transitioning from legacy to modern data architectures.Exposure to financial or market data environments.
