Senior Data Engineer – Data Governance Focus This role bridges hands-on data engineering with data governance . You will design and operate robust data pipelines and models with a focus on embedding governance by design —capturing metadata and lineage, enforcing access controls and data quality, and ensuring our catalogue and stewardship model reflect the reality of how data flows across this Energy Trading / Financial Services firm Key Responsibilities Build and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines and scalable data models (conceptual, logical, physical).Embed governance principles into data engineering processes, including:Metadata and lineage captureAccess control enforcementData quality monitoring and issue managementImplement and manage data catalogues (e.g., Collibra, Alation) and stewardship frameworks.Collaborate with stakeholders to run workshops and present solutions to business users.Deliver impactful dashboards and analytics using Power BI or Tableau .Support data architecture initiatives across Azure , Databricks , MSSQL , and Kafka platforms. Skills & Experience Strong experience in data engineering : ETL/ELT, data modelling, and analytics.Proficiency in Python , SQL , and ideally Alteryx .Solid understanding of data governance concepts : metadata management, data ownership/stewardship, data quality, data security, and data architecture.Hands-on experience with data catalogues and metadata ma
