- Scopely is looking for a Senior Client Engineer to join our Stumble Guys team in Barcelona or Dundee on a hybrid basis working 3 days a week from the hub.

- What You Will Do
- Design, implement, and polish engaging gameplay systems, mechanics, and features that enhance the player experience across levels, abilities, and in-game interactions.
- Collaborate closely with designers, artists, and other engineers to bring new creative ideas to life, ensuring smooth integration of gameplay systems into the overall game vision.
- Build and maintain scalable, maintainable, and performant code to support a wide range of gameplay scenarios, including real-time multiplayer environments.
- Contribute to the creation of innovative gameplay experiences that surprise and delight players, pushing the boundaries of what’s possible within the game’s levels and surrounding systems.
- Continuously iterate on gameplay through prototyping, testing, and player feedback, with a strong emphasis on quality, fun, and player engagement.
- Work with production and leadership to define priorities and ensure gameplay features are delivered on time, while proactively surfacing risks and dependencies.
- What We’re Looking For
- Proven professional experience as a gameplay programmer within a multi-disciplinary game development team, with a strong focus on delivering fun and polished player experiences.
- Strong proficiency with Unity and C#, with deep understanding of gameplay development workflows, debugging, and optimization.
- Solid grasp of game systems design and implementation, including physics, animation integration, abilities, and player control.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with non-technical stakeholders (design, art, production), translating creative vision into robust technical solutions.
- Proactive problem solver who anticipates gameplay challenges and advocates for player experience and quality throughout development.
- Broad technical awareness across systems (networking, performance, tools) that impact gameplay in both single-player and multiplayer contexts.
- Bonus Points
- Hands-on experience with Photon Quantum or Entity Component Systems (ECS) in production environments.
- Experience developing real-time multiplayer gameplay systems.
- Background in designing or implementing level scripting tools or pipelines.
- Familiarity with free-to-play mechanics and live game development.
- Experience iterating on gameplay content based on analytics and player feedback.
- A strong personal passion for games, with a portfolio of prototypes or shipped features that demonstrate creativity and technical skill.
