- Wootton Bassett Infants’ School is a Locally Maintained community school based at the heart of Royal Wootton Bassett. We are a one form entry Infants school with 85 pupils on roll. We pride ourselves on our warm welcoming atmosphere – Where Learning is Fun! Our school was built over 170 years ago and has undergone lots of changes, mixing old and new buildings to create a safe, landscaped oasis with beautiful views. We work alongside our feeder school and local community projects to create a stimulating, inclusive, varied curriculum across Early Years (YR) and Key Stage 1.
All about the role
- We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic SENDco who is working towards or qualified to join our team for one day a week.
Key responsibilities
- Oversee SEND provision across the school in line with SEND Code of Practice.
- Coordinate, monitor and evaluate provision for pupils with SEND.
- Work with staff to develop high-quality teaching strategies, personalised plans and interventions.
- Manage and update the SEND register and relevant paperwork.
- Lead and contribute to EHCP processes, annual reviews and referrals to external agencies.
- Provide guidance, training and support to teaching and support staff.
- Build strong partnerships with families to ensure collaborative support for pupils.
- Analyse data and use assessment information to inform provision planning.
- Working alongside the SLT and governors.
- Member of the safeguarding team.
