SEND Mentor – Temp to Perm Opportunity Southampton | £100–£110 per dayPermanent position available for the right candidate A specialist SEND provision in Southampton is seeking a compassionate, resilient and dedicated SEND Mentor to join its supportive inclusion team. This setting works with children and young people who have experienced a wide range of challenges, including trauma, disrupted education, and difficulties thriving within mainstream environments. Students here require much more than academic guidance — they need empathy, consistency and genuine relationship-building. Many have not had the stability, support networks or life opportunities that others often take for granted. This provision is looking for someone who can offer understanding, connection and encouragement every single day. Who We’re Looking For This role would suit someone who: Has experience in care, mental health, youth work, social care or SEN environmentsHas personal or professional experience supporting individuals who have faced trauma, adversity or challenging behaviourCan build trusting, meaningful relationships with young people who may initially struggle to engageOffers warmth, consistency and emotional safetyRemains calm, confident and resilient when faced with complex or sensitive situationsCan commit to full-time, long-term work, with the opportunity to transfer permanently Role Responsibilities As a SEND Mentor, you will: Provide 1:1 and small-group mentoring to support emotional and academic re-engagementHelp students with emotional regulation, wellbeing and positive routines<
