We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school community on a long-term temporary, ongoing basis, starting in January 2026.

This calm and nurturing school helps pupils re-engage with learning after previous challenges. Staff understand each pupil’s needs, set high expectations, and provide strong pastoral and therapeutic support. Pupils feel accepted, behave well, and make good progress in a safe, supportive environment where their voices are heard.

Duties as a SEND Teaching Assistant:

  • Support pupils with a range of special educational needs in the classroom and during activities

  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCo to deliver tailored learning support

  • Promote a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment

  • Help manage behaviour calmly and effectively

  • Encourage pupils to develop confidence, independence, and social skills

Ideal SEND Teaching Assistant:

  • SEND experience is essential

  • A caring, patient, and proactive approach

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills as a SEND Teaching Assistant.

  • Relevant qualifications in education or special needs support are desirable
