We are looking for a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant with experience supporting students with autism to join a welcoming school on a long-term, temporary, ongoing basis, starting in November 2025.

This is a happy, calm, and safe school where pupils are well supported and enjoy learning. Staff tailor the curriculum to meet individual needs, with a strong focus on communication. High expectations and consistent behaviour support help pupils achieve well and prepare confidently for secondary school.

Duties as a SEND Teaching Assistant:

• Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with autism, helping them to engage and succeed in their learning.

• Implement individual education and support plans under the guidance of the class teacher and SEN team.

• Use patience, structure, and understanding to help pupils manage sensory and communication needs.

• Encourage social interaction and emotional development in a nurturing environment.

• Work closely with teachers, parents, and support staff to promote consistency and progress.

Ideal SEND Teaching Assistant:

• Experience working with students with autism or in a SEND setting.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills as a SEND Teaching Assistant.

• A calm, patient, and compassionate approach.

• Ability to adapt support to meet the individual needs of each child.
