SENDCO (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Coordinator)Hourly Rate: £25 - £30Location: SurreyJob Type: Part-time (30 hours per week) We are seeking a dedicated SENDCO to develop and implement strategies and policies for Special Educational Needs and Disabilities at our Surrey campus. This role is essential in ensuring that our educational practices meet both national and local standards and that students with SEND receive tailored and effective support. Day-to-day of the role:Develop and Implement SEND Strategy and Policy: Create and oversee the implementation of the college's strategy and policies related to SEND, ensuring alignment with national and local policies.Identify and Assess Student Needs: Conduct assessments to identify students with SEN through a structured four-part cycle, involving observations and consultations with students, teachers, and parents/guardians.Provide Equity and Individualised Support: Ensure that each student with SEND receives equitable support tailored to their specific needs, including the creation of EHCP plans with both social and academic targets.Coordinate Support and Liaise with Agencies: Collaborate with a wide range of individuals and external agencies, such as psychologists and therapists, to provide comprehensive support.Support and Train College Staff: Offer guidance and training to classroom teachers on effective strategies to support students with SEN.Develop and Manage Resources: Oversee the development of learning resources that aid in the development of students with SEND and manage the budget and resources allocated for SEN provision.Analyse Data and Develop Interventions: Analyze school, local, and national data related to students with SEND to identify trends and needs, and develop appropriate strategies and interventions.
