SEN Teaching Assistant - 1:1 Behaviour Support - Oswaldtwistle Start Date: ImmediateHours: 8:30 AM - 3:30 PMContract Type: Ongoing Veritas Education is seeking an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a primary-aged pupil in Oswaldtwistle. The role involves helping the child regulate emotions, remain engaged in learning, and access the curriculum in a supportive and structured way. The pupil experiences: Short periods of engagement with learning activitiesEpisodes of heightened emotions, including vocal outburstsDifficulty remaining in the classroom for extended periods, benefiting from movement and sensory breaks We are looking for someone who can: Use calm, supportive de-escalation techniquesRedirect focus and guide the child back to a regulated stateProvide sensory activities, structured breaks, and time away from the classroom when requiredEncourage reintegration into lessons and build positive, trusting relationshipsWork closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and pastoral teams Experience with SEMH needs, positive behaviour support approaches, or trauma-informed practice is highly valued.
