An opportunity is available for a skilled and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist school in Eccles. In this role, you will:
- Deliver tailored 1:1 and small group support to pupils with a range of complex needs, including ASD, PMLD, and SLD.
- Collaborate with the class teacher to adapt learning materials and create an engaging, accessible curriculum.
- Implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and contribute to regular progress reviews.
- Foster a positive and safe learning space, supporting pupils with their social, emotional, and communication development.
- Assist with pupil's personal care needs with dignity and respect.
- Manage classroom resources and help prepare for lessons and activities.
- Liaise with a multi-disciplinary team, including teachers, therapists, and external professionals, to ensure holistic support for each child.
- Uphold the school's commitment to safeguarding, ensuring the welfare of all pupils is paramount.
Your Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A minimum of 6 months of recent experience working in a UK setting with children or young people with complex SEN (ASD, PMLD, SLD).
- Experience gained in an SEN school or specialist provision within a mainstream school.
- Confidence and experience in providing personal care.
- A patient, empathetic, and resilient nature, with the ability to build strong relationships with pupils.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a dedicated team.
- A Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) is highly desirable.
- An enhanced DBS Children and Adult on the update service, or a willingness to apply for a new one.
