The Role
We are seeking a compassionate and proactive Teaching Assistant to join our team. If you are a caring individual with a genuine desire to support students with a wide range of special educational needs, this is an excellent opportunity for you. You'll work collaboratively with our teaching staff to provide personalised support, helping students overcome obstacles and achieve their personal goals in a positive and inclusive classroom setting.
Your Responsibilities
- Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with special educational needs.
- Assist the class teacher in planning and delivering engaging lessons that are accessible to all learners.
- Help create a calm and encouraging classroom where students feel secure and motivated to learn.
- Support students' social, emotional, and physical development.
- Adapt learning materials and activities to suit the specific needs of individual students.
- Work effectively with teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure a holistic approach to student support.
- Assist with the general well-being and supervision of students throughout the school day.
What We're Looking For
- Experience working with children or young people, with a strong preference for experience in an SEN setting.
- A kind, patient, and empathetic nature.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to be flexible, adaptable, and resourceful.
- A positive attitude and a true commitment to helping students with SEN succeed.
- A collaborative spirit and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant) are a plus, but not essential.
