Key Responsibilities:

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be instrumental in the successful inclusion and development of pupils. Your responsibilities will include:

• Delivering bespoke learning and social interventions to pupils with a variety of Special Educational Needs (SEN) within the classroom.

• Acting as a consistent and trusted mentor, guiding pupils to develop self-regulation and coping strategies.

• Actively supporting the class teacher to ensure lessons are adapted and accessible, fostering a truly inclusive atmosphere for all learners.

• Meticulously observing and documenting pupil progress against their Individual Education Plans (IEPs) or EHCP targets.

• Confidently implementing positive behaviour management strategies to create a calm and productive setting.

Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you must possess:

• Demonstrable experience working with children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in an educational setting.

• A Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or significant, strong experience in a similar role.

• An Enhanced Child DBS on the update service (or be willing to apply for a new one).

• The legal right to work in the UK without any restrictions.

• Exceptional patience, adaptability, and resilience.

• Strong teamwork and professional communication skills.

• Training in key areas such as Makaton, PECS, or emotional literacy is highly desirable.
