Your Impact on Students
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you'll be a key part of the support system for students with special educational needs. Your responsibilities will include:
...Providing tailored support to individuals and small groups to help them succeed academically, socially, and emotionally.
Working alongside teachers and other professionals to create a positive and nurturing learning environment.
Tracking and documenting student progress and behaviour.
Helping to develop and carry out individualised education plans (IEPs).
Supporting students in accessing the curriculum and reaching their learning objectives.
Implementing strategies to encourage positive behaviour and manage challenging situations.
Attending team meetings and training sessions to further your professional skills.
What We're Looking For
To thrive in this role, you should have:
At least six months of experience as an SEN Teaching Assistant in a UK school.
A valid Enhanced DBS check or the willingness to apply for one.
The legal right to work in the UK.
Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.
A patient and empathetic nature with a genuine passion for supporting students with SEN.
The ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
Strong organisational skills and effective time management.
Experience with a variety of SEN needs (desirable).
An understanding of relevant safeguarding procedures (desirable).
A proactive and positive approach to problem-solving.
