Key Responsibilities:
As a SEND Teaching Assistant in this primary specialist setting, you will be instrumental in ensuring the pupils' safety, well-being, and progress. Your responsibilities will include:

Assisting confidently with personal care duties (e.g., feeding, toileting, changing) while always maintaining the pupil's dignity and comfort.
Implementing structured routines and sensory activities to aid emotional regulation and manage challenging behaviour calmly and consistently.
Using and supporting specialist communication methods (e.g., objects of reference, communication aids) and movement techniques.
Working closely with the class teacher, therapists, and a multi-disciplinary team to deliver individual education and health plans.
Requirements:

Extensive experience working with pupils who have profound/complex needs (PMLD, SEMH, or ASD) in a specialist or primary setting.
A Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is highly desirable, but relevant, practical experience is essential.
An Enhanced Child DBS on the update service (or be willing to apply for a new one).
The legal right to work in the UK without any restrictions.
A compassionate, highly resilient, and patient nature, comfortable with the physical and emotional demands of the role.
Specialist training in Team Teach, Moving & Handling, First Aid, or Trauma-Informed practice is highly desirable.
