Job Title: Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant

Location: Romford, Havering

Start Date: ASAP (Immediate Start Required)

The Opportunity:

Randstad Education is seeking a dedicated and passionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive secondary school in the Romford area. This is an excellent opportunity to secure a long-term, full-time role with the genuine possibility of transitioning to a permanent contract directly with the school. We are looking for an individual who is ready to make an immediate, positive impact on students' learning and development.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide one-on-one and small-group support to students with various Special Educational Needs (SEN).

• Assist the class teacher in managing the classroom environment and preparing resources.

• Help implement tailored learning plans (EHCPs) and track student progress.

• Encourage student engagement, independence, and positive social interaction.

• Support students during lessons and non-contact time (e.g., lunch breaks, unstructured activities).

Requirements & Experience:

• Essential: Must have previous, verifiable experience working with children or young people.

• Highly Desirable: Prior experience supporting children or students with Special Educational Needs (SEN).

• Must be available to start immediately and commit to a full-time, long-term position.

• Must hold an Enhanced DBS check (or be willing to apply for one with our support).

Pay and Benefits:

• Competitive Daily Rate: Starting at £90 per day for the first 12 weeks, increasing to £107 per day after 12 weeks (AWR compliant).
