Job Title: Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant
Location: Romford, Havering
Start Date: ASAP (Immediate Start Required)
The Opportunity:
Randstad Education is seeking a dedicated and passionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive secondary school in the Romford area. This is an excellent opportunity to secure a long-term, full-time role with the genuine possibility of transitioning to a permanent contract directly with the school. We are looking for an individual who is ready to make an immediate, positive impact on students' learning and development.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide one-on-one and small-group support to students with various Special Educational Needs (SEN).
Assist the class teacher in managing the classroom environment and preparing resources.
Help implement tailored learning plans (EHCPs) and track student progress.
Encourage student engagement, independence, and positive social interaction.
Support students during lessons and non-contact time (e.g., lunch breaks, unstructured activities).
Requirements & Experience:
Essential: Must have previous, verifiable experience working with children or young people.
Highly Desirable: Prior experience supporting children or students with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
Must be available to start immediately and commit to a full-time, long-term position.
Must hold an Enhanced DBS check (or be willing to apply for one with our support).
Pay and Benefits:
Competitive Daily Rate: Starting at £90 per day for the first 12 weeks, increasing to £107 per day after 12 weeks (AWR compliant).
