The Role
We are seeking a proactive and empathetic Teaching Assistant to join a fantastic team at a Special Educational Needs (SEN) School. The ideal candidate will be adaptable and passionate about supporting students with a diverse range of needs. This is an excellent opportunity for a caring individual who wants to foster a positive and supportive learning atmosphere. You will work closely with teachers and other staff to provide personalised support, helping students overcome challenges and reach their full potential.
Your Contribution
- Offer one-to-one and small group support to students with special educational needs.
- Collaborate with the class teacher to create and deliver engaging lessons that are accessible to all learners.
- Help maintain a calm and encouraging classroom where students feel secure and motivated.
- Assist in the social, emotional, and physical development of students.
- Adapt learning materials and activities to meet the individual needs of students.
- Partner with teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure a comprehensive approach to student care.
- Support the overall well-being and supervision of students throughout the school day.
What We Need
- Previous experience working with children or young people is essential, with a strong preference for experience in an SEN environment.
- A naturally caring, compassionate, and empathetic disposition.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to be flexible and resourceful in a dynamic setting.
- A positive attitude and a genuine commitment to helping students with SEN thrive.
- A collaborative spirit and the ability to work effectively within a team.
- Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant) are a bonus, but not a requirement.
