Are you a skilled, resilient, and caring teaching assistant prepared to truly impact the lives of remarkable youth? This is a specialist school, registered children's home and adult supported living houses with approximately seventy students and eleven tenants. It has a staff of around 300. This vibrant and supportive Special Educational Needs (SEN) School is looking for an exceptional individual to join this committed team.

Job Purpose:
To take responsibility for Teaching Assistance in order to help promote effective teaching and learning for these students.
Responsibilities:
- To have a good working knowledge and understanding of all school policies
- To provide teaching assistance to the teacher defined according to weekly/daily/sessional planning of the teacher
- To provide group and/or individual activities, planned by the teacher
- To support the general well being of students within the structure of the school
- To liaise with teachers, care staff, and Parents creating an effective team sharing knowledge and information
- To play a leading role in the management of resources within the designated teaching area
- To monitor and evaluate students' learning under the guidance of the teacher
- To assist teachers in the use of relevant management strategies to ensure a purposeful environment for teaching and learning to take place
- Within the framework of general awareness of student's safety and welfare and the school's ethos, values and attitudes
- To supervise students: in the general movement about the school in the classroom or other work places particularly:- Work Experience placements, during toileting, in dining room and play areas
