A specialist SEN school in Eccles, Manchester, requires an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with complex needs, including ASD, PMLD, and SLD. This is a long-term opportunity within a committed team, offering an immediate start for the right candidate. Your Role (Responsibilities)

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

• Deliver tailored 1:1 and small group support to pupils with complex needs (ASD, PMLD, SLD).
• Support the class teacher by adapting learning materials to make the curriculum accessible.
• Implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and contribute to student progress tracking.
• Foster a positive and safe learning space, managing challenging behaviour calmly and effectively.
• Support pupils' social, emotional, and communication development.
• Assist pupils with personal care needs (e.g., feeding, toileting, mobility) with dignity.
• Prepare classroom resources for lessons and activities.
• Liaise with a multi-disciplinary team (therapists, teachers) to ensure holistic support.
• Uphold all safeguarding and child protection policies.

What You Bring (Requirements)

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• A minimum of 6 months' recent UK experience as an SEN Teaching Assistant (or similar) working with children with complex needs (ASD, PMLD, SLD).
• Experience working within an SEN school or specialist provision.
• Confidence and professional experience in providing personal care.
• A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach to supporting pupils.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
• A Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) is highly desirable.
• Team Teach or similar de-escalation/positive handling training is desirable.
• An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
• The right to work in the UK.
