Key Responsibilities
- Develop and present captivating lessons that are meticulously adapted (differentiated) to meet the individualised learning targets (IEPs) for SEN students, covering the areas of reading, writing, and verbal communication.
- Appraise learner's linguistic and literary advancement via a mix of standardised and observational techniques, using resulting metrics to continually optimise instructional paths and teaching aids.
- Modify and simplify complex curriculum texts and resources to guarantee complete academic accessibility for all pupils, ensuring the content remains stimulating and relevant.
- Partner effectively with teaching assistants, guardians, and external multidisciplinary teams to ensure students receive seamless and comprehensive support.
- Foster an upbeat, inspiring, and effectively managed classroom atmosphere, skillfully employing discipline strategies to maintain focus and maximise productive learning time for everyone.
Applicant Prerequisites
- Possession of Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is non-negotiable.
- Extensive, demonstrable track record of teaching the National Curriculum to pupils with varying SEN profiles in educational institutions within the UK.
- A valid, up-to-date Enhanced DBS certificate or the readiness to secure one promptly.
- Strong working expertise in successful SEN methodologies, including literacy intervention frameworks and communication support tools.
- Exceptional perseverance, creativity, decisive leadership, and proficient behaviour management skills.
