Roles and Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and effective science lessons across all key stages, up to GCSE and A-Level.
- Assess, record, and report on the development, progress, and attainment of students.
- Create a positive and stimulating learning environment that encourages curiosity, inquiry, and critical thinking.
- Differentiate lessons to meet the needs of all students, including those with special educational needs.
- Contribute to the development and improvement of the Science curriculum and departmental resources.
- Participate in departmental meetings, training, and whole-school professional development.
- Supervise and support students during practical experiments, ensuring safety protocols are strictly followed.
- Act as a tutor for a group of students, providing pastoral support and guidance.
What We're Looking For
- A qualified teacher with QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or an equivalent recognized teaching qualification.
- A degree in a relevant science discipline (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or a related field).
- A deep passion for your subject and a commitment to inspiring students.
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
- The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- A proactive and creative approach to teaching and learning.
- A commitment to continuous professional development.
- Previous experience teaching up to GCSE and A-Level is highly desirable.
