£35,000 - £43,000 (dependent on experience)
The Role
Our client is recruiting for an experienced and compassionate School Nurse to join their client's health and wellbeing team. You will play a vital role in providing high-quality medical care, health advice, and emotional support to their students. Working closely with another Nurse and a Healthcare Assistant, you will ensure the physical and mental wellbeing of their school community, including up to 200 boarding students.
Set in the heart of Surrey, the stunning campus provides an exceptional education to students from around the world. They offer both day and boarding facilities, welcoming students aged 2 - 18, with boarding available for students aged 13 - 18.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide first-line medical care to students and staff, including emergency response and routine health support.
- Assess, plan, and deliver nursing care in accordance with individual needs and school policies.
- Manage and respond to a range of health issues, including sports injuries, chronic conditions, and mental health concerns.
- Support students with ongoing medical needs such as diabetes, anaphylaxis, and epilepsy.
- Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with safeguarding and confidentiality standards.
- Liaise with parents, carers, and external healthcare professionals as needed.
- Promote health education and wellbeing across the school community.
- Contribute to the smooth running of the health centre and boarding provision, supporting 24-hour care when required.
About You:
- Essential qualifications and experience:
- Registered Nurse (RN, RSCN, RGN, RMN or equivalent).
- Experience in paediatric, school, or community health settings.
- Strong clinical background - experience in Paediatrics, A&E, or General Practice desirable.
- Confident in managing conditions such as diabetes, anaphylaxis, epilepsy, and minor injuries.
- Awareness and understanding of adolescent mental health and wellbeing.
- Excellent communication, empathy, and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
