This is a crucial role that ensures our school premises are secure, clean, and in excellent condition for our students and staff.

About the Role:

As the School Caretaker, you will be a vital part of the school's operational team, responsible for the daily maintenance and security of the building and grounds. Your work will be a mix of routine tasks and responding to unforeseen issues, making every day different. You will take pride in your work, ensuring that our school is a well-cared-for and welcoming place for everyone.

Key Responsibilities:

• Security & Access: Act as a key holder, responsible for the timely opening and locking of school buildings and gates.
• Maintenance & Repairs: Perform a variety of minor repairs and general upkeep tasks, including painting, basic plumbing, and fixing broken fittings.
• Health & Safety: Conduct regular safety inspections, maintain fire safety equipment, and ensure that all areas of the school are safe and compliant with regulations.
• Grounds Maintenance: Keep the school grounds tidy and safe, including litter collection and managing seasonal needs.
• Operational Support: Assist with the setup and dismantling of equipment for school events and activities.

Skills & Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a caretaking, site management, or similar maintenance role.
• A practical, hands-on approach and the ability to solve a variety of problems.
• Good knowledge of health and safety procedures and regulations.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• The ability to work independently, manage your own time, and prioritize tasks effectively.
• A reliable and flexible attitude.
• A full UK Driving Licence may be an advantage.
• The successful candidate will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check.
