The Role:

As the School Caretaker, you will be responsible for the security, maintenance, and cleanliness of the school buildings and grounds. Typical Duties and Responsibilities:

• Security: Open and close the school site each day and ensure the premises are secure.
• General Maintenance: Carry out minor repairs, including basic plumbing, painting, and joinery.
• Health & Safety: Conduct regular checks of the site to identify and report any potential hazards.
• Cleaning: Maintain the cleanliness of the school and manage cleaning supplies.
• Grounds: Assist with the upkeep of the school grounds and outdoor areas.
• Logistics: Help with moving furniture and equipment as required for school events and activities.

Skills and Experience Needed:

• Previous experience in a similar caretaker, maintenance, or facilities role.
• Practical skills for handling basic repairs and maintenance tasks.
• A proactive and problem-solving mindset.
• Strong communication skills and a professional manner.
• An understanding of health and safety protocols.
• A valid DBS certificate (or be willing to obtain one).
