Academy: Outwood Academy Haydock
Start Date: September 2025
Working Pattern: 37 hours per week / 39 weeks per year (Term Time plus 5 days). Full time with part time considered

About the Academy:

Outwood Academy Haydock, an 11-16 academy serving the community in the former mining village of Haydock, within the larger Merseyside town of St Helens, is seeking a dedicated Student Information Desk (SID) Receptionist. Proudly part of the Outwood Family since 2022, and rated 'Good' following our Ofsted inspection in September 2024, we are a welcoming and supportive academy with a strong and unwavering commitment to providing the highest quality education for every child. Our focus remains firmly on our students, fostering a culture where success is celebrated and a positive environment for learning flourishes.

Our carefully designed curriculum aims to stretch and enrich the learning experiences of all our students, and our consistent emphasis on effective learning ensures that every student has the opportunity to achieve their full potential. We firmly believe that learning should be both an enjoyable and a deeply enriching experience. Taking a holistic view of education, we strive to build a safe and secure learning community that encourages healthy and sustainable lifestyles and empowers our students to pursue career paths that are both stimulating and profoundly rewarding.

About the role:

We are looking to appoint a motivated Student Information Desk (SID) Receptionist who will actively contribute to an ethos of respect, recognition, optimism, celebration, and mutual support throughout the school. You will play a vital role in promoting equality and valuing the diverse backgrounds within our school community. As the first point of contact for students, you will provide effective and student-friendly support on all aspects of Academy life.

The ideal candidate will possess high aspirations for students, demonstrate commitment and a genuine passion for learning, and have the skills and determination to make a real difference to the lives of our students. You will align with our core principle of 'Students First'.

It would be advantageous for applicants to be First Aid trained, or have a willingness to undertake this training, and to participate in other relevant training to support the wellbeing and safety of our students within the Academy.

Our Commitment:

As a member of the Outwood Family of Schools, we believe in putting Students First, raising standards, and transforming lives. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. All appointments will be subject to a satisfactory completion of safeguarding checks.
