• Role Summary
• The Safety Engineer will support the delivery of Acquisition Safety policy and solutions within a regulated MOD environment. The role focuses on through-life management of project safety risk, supporting the safe and suitable delivery of equipment, systems and services to Front Line Commands.
• Key Responsibilities
• Support the generation of technical safety requirements and documentation for sub-systems.
• Identify, collate and evaluate technical safety data to support project documentation maturity.
• Apply relevant safety legislation, regulation, policy, processes and standards.
• Contribute to technical risk management activities at project and programme level.
• Support the development, review and maintenance of safety artefacts and safety cases.
• Collaborate with stakeholders on technical safety requirements.
• Support system safety test, verification, validation and evaluation activities.
• Assist with through-life safety support, modification, disposal and decommissioning activities.
• Contribute to technical assurance activities within the safety discipline.
• Essential Experience & Qualifications
• STEM qualification at RQF Level 3 or equivalent.
• Experience providing technical advice and supporting delivery of engineering outcomes.
• Experience working within regulated engineering environments.
• Working towards professional registration (EngTech or RSciTech) with a relevant professional body.
