Reports to: Production Supervisor/Foreman

The client is seeking an experienced and skilled Heavy Gauge Plate Rolling Operative to join their manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up and operating heavy plate rolling machines to form steel plate into cylindrical shapes, in accordance with engineering specifications and production requirements. You must be capable of handling large, heavy-duty materials safely and accurately, with a strong understanding of rolling techniques and equipment maintenance.

Key Responsibilities: -
• Set up, operate, and monitor a heavy gauge plate rolling machines (3-roll bending machine).
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, work orders, and specifications to determine material requirements and rolling dimensions.
• Select appropriate tooling, adjust machine settings, and perform pre-operational checks.
• Align and position plate materials using overhead cranes, forklifts, or other lifting equipment.
• Perform rolling operations on steel material up to 12mm gauge
• Inspect rolled components for conformance to dimensional tolerances and quality standards.
• Carry out daily machine upkeep and report any faults or mechanical issues promptly.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment in compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Work collaboratively with welders, fabricators, and quality control teams to meet production targets.
• Record production data and complete job documentation accurately.

Skills & Experience Required: -
• Proven experience operating heavy gauge plate rolling equipment in a fabrication or manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of material properties and rolling processes for heavy plate steel.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and fabrication blueprints.
• Competency in using overhead cranes and forklifts (valid certification preferred).
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
• Good problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and machine troubleshooting skills.
• Health and safety awareness and commitment to safe working practices.

Standard hours are 8.00am to 4:30pm, there could be the option of 7.00am to 3:30pm or similar if that helps.
