General Retail Assistant - Notcutts St Albans Garden Centre

15 hours per week, to include weekends and Bank Holidays on a rota with the rest of the teams

Rate of pay meets NMW/NLW pay rates.

This is a seasonal position until 24th December 2025

Our Notcutts St Albans Garden Centre is looking for an enthusiastic retail and customer service assistant to work within our outdoor department, working with Christmas trees which consists of assisting customer to choose their perfect tree, net the tree and then carry out to the customers' car.

The ideal candidate will have experience of working within a retail environment, some horticultural knowledge will be useful, as will having the ability to lift and carry items such as Christmas trees.

Our ideal candidate will;

• Have previous experience in a similar role, preferably in a gardening/retail environment
• Have excellent people skills and ability to interact with a wide range of customers
• Have the experience and ability to upsell and cross sell.
• Be able to maintain shop floor, POS and pricing standards
• Be flexible and adaptable to change
• Be able to work effectively as part of a team and on their own
