The Role:
You'll provide essential support to young people in our Tailored Localised Care Team, helping them with independent living skills, community activities, and appointments. You'll support young people facing challenges such as mental health issues, self-harm, challenging behaviours, learning disabilities, and those on DOLs Orders.
What We're Looking For:
We need individuals with proven experience supporting children and young people in a residential setting. You should be confident in de-escalation techniques, able to make prompt decisions, and skilled in accurate record-keeping. Key personality traits include calmness, confidence, understanding of trauma, a non-judgemental attitude, resilience, and an observant nature.
Rates of Pay (PAYE):
- Days - £18.00 p/h
- Waking Night - £20.00 p/h
- Sleep in - £13.69 p/h

- De-escalation Skills: Confidence in using de-escalation techniques to manage heightened behaviors calmly.
- Decision-Making: The ability to make prompt decisions and take action in challenging situations.
- Record Keeping: An understanding of detailed and accurate daily record keeping and incident reporting.
- Creativity & Trust Building: A creative approach to engaging and establishing trust with children and young people.
- Key Personality Traits:
- Calmness during crisis situations (aggression, self-harm, destructive behaviors).
- Confidence in your experience to support daily decision-making.
- Understanding of how trauma, previous experiences, and diagnoses impact behavior.
- Non-judgmental attitude, keeping an open mind even in challenging situations.
- Resilience to continue supporting through stressful situations and to keep trying new ways to engage.
- Observant nature, with the ability to share insights through reports and meetings.
