We are seeking dedicated individuals with proven experience supporting children and young people in crisis to join our specialist team in Reading. This is a challenging yet rewarding role where you will use your specialist skills to de-escalate difficult situations, build trust, and provide a safe, supportive environment for vulnerable young people. Key Responsibilities As a Specialist Support Worker, you will be responsible for: Providing comprehensive care and support to children and young people within a residential setting.Confidently working with colleagues to manage and de-escalate heightened behaviours, using proven techniques to keep children safe.Making decisive, appropriate decisions and taking action in challenging situations.Maintaining detailed, accurate daily records and incident reports.Creatively engaging with children and young people to establish and build trust.Collaborating with the wider team to implement care plans and support daily activities.Demonstrating sound communication, strong judgment, and clarity in protecting personal and professional boundaries.
