Our Animal Microbial Research department at Novonesis is looking for a committed and skilled Research Scientist with a passion for microbiology, probiotics discovery, and gut microbiology. Welcome to Animal Biosolutions Applied Research As part of Animal Biosolutions Applied Research, Animal Microbial Research focuses on product development and innovation that is based on scientific understanding of the mode of action, application and industry knowledge – all in close collaboration with core R&D, marketing. and other stakeholders. In this role you’ll make an impact by: Working on new product development and life cycle management projects in close collaboration with research teams, marketing, and sales. Developing assays for screening in applied conditions and intestinal tract in vitro simulations. Effectively communicating scientific findings to broad and diverse audiences. Using strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach with technical challenges. Planning and coordinating experiments and investigating modes of action. Being a strong team player who engages proactively with the broader organization. Translating business and customer needs into products. Easily adapting to changing needs in projects and beyond To succeed you must have: A Ph.D. in Microbiology, Biology, Animal Science or related field, or master’s degree with 5+ years of experience working with microbiology/bacteria. A strong microbiology foundation and experience with applied microbiology in an agricultural setting. Experience with poultry, ruminants, and/or swine and knowledge about the agricultural industry will be an advantage. Experience in experimental design, data collecting, processing, statistical analysis and visualization (Benchling, Excel, SAS/JMP, PowerBI, Power automate). Expertise with CFU enumeration, liquid handlers, automation is an advantage. Strong communication skills and a desire to achieve results in a team environment.
