Relief Pier Worker (Isles)

Hours are offered on an as and when required basis

£14.96 per hour (including Distant Islands Allowance)

A shift allowance will be paid for unsocial hours worked where appropriate

Applications are invited for the above position working within Marine Services and Transportation.

The Pier Worker will participate in OIC Marine Services Safety Management System in accordance with the Port Marine Safety Code and associated plans referenced to in the Safety Management System policy document.

The Pier Worker’s duties will include instructing vessels where to berth and will assist with the berthing and sailings of vessels to and from the piers. They will also ensure that the Harbour Byelaws are complied with. Additionally, the Pier Worker will ensure the harbour premises are kept clean and tidy. They will also be responsible for completing and forwarding all required documentation to the Harbour Authority at Scapa as and when required.

You must be able to travel efficiently and effectively between various work locations.

This post requires Level 1 Disclosure Scotland Clearance.
