  • The Opportunity
  • Are you looking for a rewarding career at the cutting edge of project delivery, where you can make a real difference? Join our expanding Sizewell C (SZC) team and work on one of the most exciting and significant megaprojects in the UK. You’ll be contributing to the UK’s climate change agenda and shaping the future of our energy policy.
  • Following on from the success of the new nuclear power station at Hinkley Point C (HPC), the Sizewell C Project (SZC) in Suffolk is the UK’s next nuclear power new build project. The project has obtained planning approval and has started construction works. It has recently achieved Financial Investment Decision (FID) meaning that all the funding for the full lifespan of the project is now secured and in place guaranteeing the full delivery of this new nuclear power station. When completed, it will provide dependable electricity to 6 million homes for 60 years, which along with renewables, will support Britain to achieve Net Zero by 2050.
  • We have an excellent opportunity for Quality Management Leads (QMLs) to join the project. The primary purpose of the QML role is to oversee the quality assurance and quality control activities carried out across the delivery programme.
  • The Role
  • You will ensure that projects and their suppliers apply and comply with the appropriate processes and procedures required to meet the quality expectations of each programme. This is both a challenging and rewarding position in which you will report to the Quality Delivery Manager (QDM) and work closely with Project Managers (PMs), project teams, contracted inspection agencies, supply chain partners, and internal and external regulators.
  • Each delivery programme has its own quality requirements, supported by a team of QMLs reporting to a QDM. As part of the Quality Delivery Team, you will provide quality‑related services and support to the PM and the wider multi‑disciplinary team (MDT).
  • In this role, you will act as an ‘Intelligent Customer’, ensuring that robust quality arrangements are established and effectively implemented by the supply chain, building on lessons learned from Hinkley Point C (HPC).
  • Key Responsibilities
  • Provide appropriate oversight and assurance to ensure that quality arrangements are followed by the MDT and the supply chain.
  • Develop and implement quality assurance and quality control arrangements across the Sizewell C organisation.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including supply chain partners, other Sizewell C directorates, contracted inspection agencies, and supporting entities.
  • Support and contribute to supplier qualification processes and tender evaluations.
  • Participate in supplier kick‑off meetings and training/development activities.
  • Work closely with the PM and QDM to ensure goods and services are delivered ‘right first time’, promoting a learning culture and consistency across all programmes.
  • Report on project and supplier quality performance, escalating issues where required and supporting mitigation actions.
  • Lead the review, acceptance, and monitoring of Contractors’ Quality Assurance Plans (CQAPs).
  • Support the review of supplier Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) and Lifetime Quality Records (LTQRs).
  • Produce and implement Project Quality Control Plans (PQCPs) to ensure compliance with key contractual quality requirements.
  • Undertake and support audits, surveillance activities, and joint inspections.
  • Lead the resolution of non‑conformances and promote continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Review and approve end‑of‑manufacturing records to facilitate equipment release.
  • Champion a strong nuclear safety culture within Sizewell C and the supply chain.
  • The Skills
  • Experience in project delivery, ideally within the nuclear power sector, with a strong focus on quality management.
  • A solid understanding of Quality Assurance and Quality Control across engineering, procurement, manufacturing, construction, and commissioning.
  • Knowledge of Quality Management Systems, ISO standards, and preferably nuclear sector regulations.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build productive relationships.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to influence and provide constructive challenge.
  • Experience in supplier management, including undertaking supplier audits.
  • If this sounds like the right opportunity for you, we’d love to hear from you.

  • Additional Information
  • Join the team at Sizewell C. Our vision is to Lead The Way On Nuclear.
  • The Sizewell C team is one of the most exciting and largest new megaprojects in the UK, whilst being at the forefront of the UK’s climate change agenda and energy policy. We have begun constructing a 3.2-gigawatt nuclear power station on the Suffolk coast in the East of England replicating, wherever possible, the design used for Hinkley Point C, another nuclear power station being built in Somerset.
  • When built, Sizewell C will be one of the largest power stations to operate in the UK. The power station will generate low carbon electricity for at least 60 years, supplying over 6 million homes and supporting around 7% of the UK’s current electricity needs.
  • Our vision is to Lead The Way On Nuclear. We want Sizewell C to define what good leadership for the nuclear industry and British infrastructure looks like and deliver on it. We understand the feats of organisation, logistics, collaboration and imagination that building nuclear requires. We are building for the next generation for their home-grown energy, energy price stability and ultra-low carbon power in abundance. We also want to set the benchmark for maximising long-lasting social value as we build and demonstrate how smart collaboration can work for the benefit of communities – locally, regionally and nationally.
  • We are the first nuclear power station in the UK to be funded under the Regulated Asset Base funding model (RAB). Our largest shareholder is the UK Government, alongside equity partners La Caisse, Centrica, EDF and Amber Infrastructure.
  • Sizewell C operates within a complex and fast-moving stakeholder environment, engaging with a wide range of partners including government bodies, regulators, local communities, supply chain partners, and international collaborators. This makes Sizewell C a uniquely stimulating place to work — where navigating evolving priorities, balancing interests, and building trusted relationships is just as critical as technical excellence. For those who thrive in dynamic, multi-dimensional settings, it offers unmatched professional challenge and growth.
  • When joining Sizewell C, you may wonder why you are contacted by colleagues with an EDF email or see the EDF logo on portals that you access and/or documentation you receive; this is because we have partnered with EDF for the provision of a number of support services whilst we complete a successful transition out of the EDF group.
  • At Sizewell C we encourage and embrace diversity and how it can improve our experience and performance at work. It is a requirement that those who join us have the right to work in the UK. Whilst sponsorship may be a possibility that we can explore, we are fully committed to local recruitment where possible, and those already holding the right to work in the UK.
  • To be appointed to this role, you will need to meet the criteria for Security Vetting, which will, ordinarily, require you to have been a resident of the UK for at least three of the past five years.
  • By submitting an application to this role, you acknowledge that you have read and understood Sizewell C’s employee privacy policy and EDF's employee privacy policy. Just to let you know, EDF will be processing and sharing information about your application on behalf of Sizewell C.
