Listers Central Ltd. are the fastest growing UK manufacturer of PVC and Aluminium windows and doors, based in Fenton, Stoke-on-Trent Listers. We have been making windows in Fenton for over 30 years!
We are now looking for a few Quality Control Operatives to join our small and busy team on the factory floor which will help us ensure that the quality of our products leaving the factory, meet the highest standard.
In this role, you will ensure that all finished PVC windows and doors meet the required company quality standards by conducting thorough visual, functional, and component checks. The Quality Control Operative plays a key role in maintaining product integrity, reducing defects, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
Ideal candidates will have previous experience in either quality control and/or manufacturing (PVC windows preferred).
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform end-of-line inspections on all finished PVC products (windows and doors)
- Carry out visual, component, and functional checks according to company quality standards
- Test products using standardised work instructions and quality checklists
- Confirm presence and correctness of all necessary components, hardware and accessories
- Accurately record and report defects or non-conformities, highlighting trends where needed
- Identify and escalate any recurring quality issues or process breakdowns to the Quality Team
- Scan and confirm finished items into the system for traceability and dispatch
- Ensure all faults are logged and any required rework instructions are communicated correctly
- Work closely with Production, Assembly and Dispatch teams to ensure a smooth quality workflow
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the quality check area
- Adhere to all Health & Safety, PPE and Manual Handling requirements
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Essential
- Prior experience in a manufacturing or assembly environment
- High attention to detail and ability to spot faults or inconsistencies
- Ability to follow written work instructions and product drawings
- Confident using hand tools and scanning equipment
- Strong communication skills to report issues clearly and professionally
- Reliable and proactive work ethic
Desirable
- Previous experience in quality inspection or end-of-line testing
- Understanding of PVC window/door construction and components
- Experience using barcode scanners or production software systems
