Your purpose will be

  • To ensure all public spaces throughout Fairmont Cheshire The Mere are presented with the elegance, refinement, and immaculate attention to detail expected of a world‑class luxury hotel. The Public Area Supervisor leads the Public Area team in maintaining pristine cleanliness, flawless presentation, and a serene atmosphere across lobbies, lounges, corridors, spa areas, and all guest‑facing spaces. Through strong leadership, precision, and a commitment to Fairmont’s service philosophy, this role enhances the guest experience from the moment they enter the hotel.

  • Supervise the Public Area team, ensuring all guest‑facing spaces meet Fairmont’s luxury cleanliness and presentation standards
  • Conduct detailed inspections of lobbies, corridors, restrooms, spa areas, and public lounges to guarantee flawless appearance
  • Support the Housekeeping Manager in coordinating daily schedules, priorities, and service expectations
  • Lead by example, maintaining a polished, professional presence throughout the hotel
  • Ensure timely completion of cleaning assignments, managing productivity and service flow
  • Provide coaching, guidance, and on‑the‑job training to Public Area Attendants
  • Respond promptly to guest requests, ensuring warm, anticipatory, and personalised service
  • Collaborate with Front Office, Guest Relations, Engineering, and Spa teams to support seamless operations
  • Monitor stock levels, equipment, and cleaning supplies, ensuring efficient usage and replenishment
  • Support service recovery, addressing guest concerns with discretion and professionalism
  • Maintain accurate records of cleaning schedules, maintenance issues, and inspection reports
  • Ensure compliance with Fairmont grooming, service, and cleanliness standards at all times
  • Uphold health, safety, and hygiene procedures, including COSHH and manual‑handling guidelines
  • Participate in daily briefings, sharing updates on occupancy, events, and operational priorities
  • Assist with onboarding and training of new Public Area team members
  • Promote a positive, collaborative, and guest‑focused team culture
  • Ensure lost‑and‑found procedures are followed accurately and securely
  • Support additional tasks as required by the Housekeeping leadership team
  • Please note that we believe in flexibility and multi-skilling, and you may be asked to do different tasks from time to time to enable us to meet the needs of our guests and colleagues.
  • Qualifications
  • 2 years’ experience in housekeeping or public area cleaning, ideally within a luxury hotel environment
  • Previous supervisory or team‑leading experience strongly preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a polished, professional presence
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to maintaining luxury standards
  • Knowledge of cleaning procedures, hygiene standards, and public area presentation
  • Understanding of UK health & safety regulations, including COSHH
  • Strong organisational and time‑management skills
  • Ability to lead, motivate, and support a diverse team
  • Basic IT skills for housekeeping systems and reporting
  • A passion for luxury hospitality and creating exceptional guest experiences
