Requirements
- Applicants must hold GCSE English Language (Grades A-C) OR Essential Skills Level 2 or higher in Communication, or an equivalent qualification.
- Applicants must hold GCSE Mathematics (Grades A-C) OR Essential Skills Level 2 or higher in Application of Number, or an equivalent qualification.
- Hold a relevant Degree or equivalent Level 5/6 qualification in the specified subject area (e.g., Computing, Numeracy, Maths).
- EITHER hold, or be in the process of completing, a recognised teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE in Further Education) OR give a commitment to undertake this qualification upon starting.
- Have a minimum of one year's experience of teaching, training, or contributing to the assessment of learners with diverse ability levels.
- Possess comprehensive, up-to-date specialist knowledge of the subject area.
- Enhanced vetting is required for this role, including an enhanced Access NI check to be completed before the commencement of duties.
Responsibilities
- Produce professional schemes of work and lesson plans appropriate for the course.
- Deliver high-quality teaching and instruction in relevant courses to a diverse range of learners.
- Set and grade assignment work, providing constructive feedback to students in a timely manner.
- Ensure all training and assessment materials used are of the highest quality and are appropriate to support learning.
- Use a range of assessment methods relevant to the training, the trainee, and the learning environment.
- Maintain accurate and timely student records, class registers, and prepare progress reports as required.
