The role:

As a Project Support Officer, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the delivery of projects within the Early Help & Transformation Team. You will be a part of a new project team specifically set up to deliver the key requirements working alongside Family Help Lead Practitioners, Multi-Agency Child Protection Teams and strategic safeguarding partners to ensure seamless delivery of reforms that help families stay together and thrive.

In order to carry out this role, you will be an experienced project support officer with a strong background in coordinating project plans and governance documentation, supporting multi-agency meetings, and producing progress reports for senior stakeholders. You will also need experience of working in a public sector and knowledge of Children's Services along with excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.



Key responsibilities:

Coordinate and maintain detailed project plans, timelines and governance documentation (e.g. action logs, risk registers, decisions logs)
Organise and support multi-agency meetings, workshops and steering groups across workstreams
Collate and assess programme data, producing regular progress and impact reports for senior leaders and DfE stakeholders
Liaise with partners (local authorities, police, health and education) to align activities and escalate dependencies
Assist in the design and delivery of evaluation and learning activities, capturing best practice
Manage project event logistics and stakeholder communications, including briefing materials, newsletters and website updates
Provide administrative support to Programme Lead and Senior Responsible Officer, ensuring documentation is accurate and up to date



What the client is looking for:

Qualified to NVQ / Diploma level 4 in Project Management or project management qualification e.g. PRINCE 2 and / or proven experience in end-to-end project, or discreet complex work package delivery
Knowledge of children’s services practice and/or transformation within other public sector settings
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and in supporting stakeholder analysis and management
Significant experience in supporting projects through scoping, planning, process testing, change implementation, implementation, reviewing and benefits realisation – initiation to completion
Analytical skills, enabling data and evidence-based solutions to be identified and implemented e.g. finance, risk, value for money, productivity and quantitative data
Experience of supporting in project documentation development, collaboration and management ensuring all relevant documentation is in place and up to date
Significant experience in a similar role within the public sector or similar organisation
